A recent study highlights that U.S. schools generate 39.2 pounds of food waste per student annually, contributing significantly to methane emissions and water waste. Programs like those offered by Let\u2019s Go Compost aim to address these challenges while fostering a culture of sustainability.<\/p>\n
Let\u2019s Go Compost has already made a significant impact, supporting over 110 K-12 schools across 10 states with free educational tools and curricula. The organization\u2019s mission is to prevent methane emissions by reducing food waste at schools, creating healthier learning environments, and equipping students with practical STEAM skills to address sustainability challenges.<\/p>\n
