As we begin 2026, Florence Copper is excited to share an important milestone: we have officially completed the construction program required to advance to commercial operations. This builds upon our production test facility (PTF), which successfully produced more than one million pounds of copper on site in Florence beginning in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Construction focused on two key areas: expanding the Florence Copper wellfield and building a larger SX\/EW plant. This plant will plate LME Grade A copper cathode on site, creating a reliable domestic supply of U.S. finished copper.<\/p>\n<p>Florence Copper\u2019s first production of copper cathode from the commercial facility is expected early this year, marking another exciting step forward for the operation and an important milestone for U.S. copper production.<\/p>\n<p>When fully operational, Florence Copper will have a production capacity of 85 million pounds of copper per year over its 22-year operating life. This will make us the third largest copper cathode producer in the nation at a time when the U.S. continues to rely heavily on foreign supply.<\/p>\n<p>As operations expand, Florence Copper is proud to continue its commitment to promoting local job opportunities and economic growth.\u00a0Our workforce has grown from 35 employees in early 2023 to more than 160 today, with plans to add approximately 40 more direct positions in the coming months.\u00a0We are proud to say the majority of recent hires have come from Pinal County, reflecting our commitment to local jobs, workforce development, and long-term community investment.<\/p>\n<p>We want to thank you for your continued support and look forward to remaining an active and engaged partner in the place we proudly call home.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Happy New Year from Florence Copper!
